I never thought I had a problem. I would always make excuses on how I was spending my money, it needs to stop. I want to be able to talk with my husband without getting yelled at all the time about how much money I took out on credit card and how much I've lost. I don't want to do this anymore but don't know how I can stop.
I'm the type of person who always needs to be doing something--if I don't gamble, I clean. I need to do something else with my time but just don't know what? Do I get another job? I need help!

I know what you mean because I really want to stop going to the casino and stop playing poker (texas holdem) ever since I learned how to play this game 1 1/2 year ago all I think about is playing texas holdem. I used to play on line and lost alot of money but now I go to local casino and spend hours at a time there losing alot of money and feeling really bad about myself. I think about all the things I could of bought with the money I wasted on gambling. I don't know how to stop playing texas holdem because i want to go everyday to play. I think of ways to go there to spend all day playing texas holdem and I used to play 21 but I don't even want to do that anymore. Help me to stop playing texas holdem.

I think we just need to stop going to the casino and stop playing texas holdem as long as we can. I went back today to casino and lost another $640 and yesterday I lost $1100 and thought i could get my money back today. I need to just stop going.

Has either of you considered banning yourself from the Casino(s) as a first step measure in stopping.
A measure that seems to help many other and may be worthwhile considering.
What about limiting access to cash, by getting a friend, family member to control any money/bills that you need to deal with.

Hello whoever you are,
I understand your plight i've been a problem gambler for 24 years, but haven't gambled for over a year. i have written two short books on the subject (one published) and developed a website for all the people out there who have problems with gambling like you. If you go to my website www.wanttostopgambling.com you can download a free self help book which will give you alot of answers that you are looking for. It might not stop you gambling, only you can do that, but it's free, it takes an hour to read, and you will be able to empathise with everything in it.
My thoughts are with you and good luck

i wish i could really help you to quit playing texas holdem
do you have someone in your life-to spend time with a loved one or a friend to keep you company instead of going to the casino?
