40+ years old. Zero savings.
Paycheck gone on payday. Even when bills are due.
Enough is enough. I know in my heart I need help.
My pocketbook tells me so.
I went to my first meeting tonight.
Met two fellow souls. It is a relief to know that you are not alone.
Went through the reading of the Gamblers Anonymous's 12 step recovery and unity program.
Also got a welcome package containing a list of people to contact if the URGE strikes.
It's exactly what I need right now.
I'm glad I went.
Day One.

Hey -- Stacey is right -- that first day is tough. I have to tell you, things will get better. Stay with it and you will find:
1. Happiness
2. Financial stability
One other thing is you will start to notice other aspects of life and develop new interests. Good luck and welcome.
Scotty

You are only 40+ years old. You can accomplish many great things in 2-4 years. Do you want to, though? Want to, really, really bad? Bad enough that you will put gambling in the backburner?

Good for you! That first meeting is the toughest one to get yourself too but its the best gift you can give yourself. Just take things one day at a time, just don't make a bet today and focus on that. You don't have to be alone. Congratulations!
