Looking for some practical advice

Hi Folks,

I'm new to this site. Unfortunately not new to gambling, but I suppose the good news is that I am not really new to recovery either, and I think (I hope) I am getting better at it all the time.Laughing

Anyways, one of the things that I found that helped me avoid the casinos was to bar myself legally. If I enter a casino in my province, I can be charged with trespassing. That has given me enough pause to actually engage my rational mind and say to myself "Hey, remember how well gambling worked out in the past?".

Now they have online casinos. I played a little poker, and although it doesn't seem to obsess me like the slots did, it worked like a "gateway gambling" into the online slots. I have managed not to get myself too far into the hole (I'll have to go into debt a bit to pay rent), but I am afraid about how easily accessible the online slots are. So the long and short of it is, does anyone know a way that I can make it a little more difficult for myself to online gamble shy of throwing out my computer? Just something that gives me enough time for my rational brain to kick in?

Even if no one has any specific advice, hello to you all. Glad to have found this place. There is no GA in my town, so you folks are my version of it.

Hey All,

Use gamblock.com.  This english company saved me!  They download software onto your computer that blocks all gambling sites.  Wonderful people.

I have been gambling free since 30 may 2006.  This is the best thing I've ever done.  Life is so sweet now.

All the best,
